Willis
8/19/81 - 6/13/97
Missed deeply by his human, John Meissner
Willis became my dog late in the summer of 1981. From that
point on, we
spent a lot of time together. I liked to share my entire
life with him. I
took him to a high school basketball game I broadcast,
I took him to a
hockey practice, and, of course, I had to share all my meals
with him. I
used to say about him: "He knows no tricks, he can't fetch anything, he
just wags his tail and licks my face!"
Just to be with me was all he ever
wanted to do.
Willis really enjoyed car rides and meeting new people,
especially kids. He was such a loving dog. And, he was so easy going. I
once went a whole year without hearing him bark! (If you'd like to visit
him, you can do
so here.)
In the
spring of 1997, Willis developed a tumor between his right eye and ear,
which locked his jaw shut, making him unable to eat. I sent him on to the
Rainbow Bridge on June 13th, 1997, which is the worst day of my life. I
have (and still do) missed him tremendously, but I am looking forward with
great anticipation, to the day we are reunited at the Rainbow Bridge. To
Willis, my joy boy, fluffy puppy, silly Willy,
super gooby, I love you very
much, and I'll see you again someday.
Thank you for
taking care of me,
love, Johnny.
