Sam

He now rests under the dogwoods in my back yard. Sam had a passion for life and adventure. The word most often used to describe Sam - "AmaZing!"

We shared the forest, mountains, and rivers, and daily walks in the park. Sam was my sidekick for 18 years. Once I rowed to the middle of a lake to go fishing, leaving Sam asleep at the camp site. Sam awoke and followed my scent to the water's edge, dove in, and swam in sweeping arcs until I was found. When Sam was just a pup, it was discovered that he was blind. I made a choice to keep him. Throughout his life, he insisted on being a part of everything.

He was spirited, courageous, and lived a charmed life. He was my buddy, and I will remember him fondly.
