Rags
In loving
memory of Rags
Dec 1,1995 to March 16,1998
A few words from Sherry:
Rags brought us wonderful memories that make us laugh and cry at the
same time. We found Rags when we started looking for a Cairn terrer. He
was an abused puppy and in really bad shape: he had hardly any hair
(which he had chewed out) -- he had been kept in a cage the first 6 months
of life. We took him in and got the best vet available. It wasn't long
his hair started growing and he was bouncing around the house.
Rags was a great outdoorsman. He loved to go boating, camping, and
rail riding, fishing, hiking, rafting, playing in the yard with his tennis
ball, and playing in the snow. He hates the rain! Ragshad his own boat
and he knew he was the captain of it. He had his lifejacket and when he
saw it he knew it was time to go. The fisrt time we go camping and
boating this year it's going to be touch.
Rags was our child, he went where we went and did what we did. Rags is
an international boy, he's been to Canada a bunch. His daddy (Hudson)is
from Canada.
Ragzie (my nickname for him) loved to play chase: me, Hudson and our
grandson Ray would have to take turns, first Rags would want you to
chase him him and then on a dime he would turn and chase you. He was
very protective of us andour 2 grandsons.
He loved all foods. Ragzie had these puppy dog eyes, that when he
looked at you said "Please give me a bit or I'll wither away..."
Right after the first of this year we noticed things were not right
with Rags. He always had small problems from the beginning. The vet said
he thought he might have a brain tumor. March 14-15, he cried all night
long, Monday March 16 1998 Itook him to the vet which was a trip every
two weeks. He said there was nothing left for him to be able to do for
Rags. Rags went to sleep that day. And it almost killed us. My last
words to him were "I love you so much, come and see mom and dad when
ever you want to".
A Note To Rags:
Ragzie mommy and daddy miss you so much, Your balls and toys are on the
table with your picture. I pick flowers for you. You were and are the
best dog in the world, OOP'S you weren't a dog were you! I know you've
been home, come again soon. We love you Rags and you'll always be in our
hearts and memories, the hurting and the pain and needles are all behind
you now. I hope that there are lots of balls and toys, run swim and play
Rags; Your still Mommy and Daddy's good boy. We also know you're running
things your way, you're the boss. You are on our minds everyday.
Love,
Mom and Dad

I'm going boating...I can't wait!

It's winter and this is my favorite place
to be -- by the fireplace!
