Shadowe
She came into our lives as a puppy, so small, fluffy and cute. As she grew, she and I became very close, so close that she'd only listen to me, not my dad. Since we lived on an acreage in Northern Alberta, she was free to run around the yard, and when dad couldn't get her to come in, I had to call for her. Unfortunately, this free-spiritedness resulted in her being hit by a van. We didn't think she'd make it through that first night, but she wanted to live. Even though she was paralyzed from the "waist" down, she persevered and gained mobility again, with a bit of a limp. Thanks to the vet, her strong will and some pretty tough steroid medications, he recovery was almost 100%. But, the medications were ultimately the cause of her demise. The potency of them caused numerous tumors throughout her body, and ultimately, we had to put her down.
I miss her every day, she was my "ShadyLady". A beautiful animal with a heart of gold.
