Emily Rose
On Friday, July 13th, 2001 we had to euthanize our dog Emily. In the spring
she was diagnosed with an inoperable tumor in her nasal cavity. We could
have treated it with radiation but the doctors felt it would be hard on her
and not really extend her time with us by much. It also would have caused
her to go blind in her right eye.
I questioned if I would know when the time
was right. But the night before, I went to check on her...and she looked
directly into my eyes and I promise you I felt her plea to be given peace. I
got goosebumps and just fell on the floor to hug her with tears streaming
down my face.
We have a baby boy who just adored her and he still asks for
her. She was wonderful with him and although he won't remember her...we have
pictures and video of them together. I have placed her ashes in his favorite
stuffed bear so he can lay on her like he used to when she was here.
