Cubby
I'd had my dog Cubby as long as i could remember. I couldn't remember ever
not having him. He was the cutest cocker spaniel you could ever own. We grew
as best friends, and Cubby was just like a brother to me. All my friends
loved playing with him. He loved everyone. The only time he hurt someone was
when Cubby was in our fenced backyard when we weren't home. My neighbor went
through the fence gate, and walked up to Cubby. He was obviously scared that
this person he had never seen before was about to do something to him(he
didn't know blair was only trying to pet him) when we weren't home, so he
felt threatened and bit blair. Besides that, Cubby was as gentle and playful
as could be. When he was 9 years old, he started acting strange. Usually when
he would jump he would land regular, on his front paws first, then his back.
But lately, it was like his front paws would give out, and he would land on
his neck. He also ate grass all the time, and was having bladder problems. It
hurt me to see Cubby like this. He was soon diagnosed with cancer.
One
morning, as i was coming home from a friends house, i entered a quiet house.
No one said anything. Then my dad came up to me and told me Cubby had a
seizure and died. I didn't beleive him at first, then he convinced me that he
was telling the truth. I ran up to my mom who was crying just like me. I
really miss Cubby. My whole family does.
He died
on May 22nd, 1996. Exactly 9 years after we got him..
