Bones
My beloved dog Bones was put to sleep on July 1 after a long bout with
cancer. She was a great dog, goofy and playful, loving and loyal.
I
got Bones from the Evanston Animal Shelter in July 1991, and she was an
emaciated, furless mess. She'd been beaten and was handshy, terror
stricken and all skin and bones, which is how she got her name.
I loved
her, brought her back to health, and we were fast friends. I miss her
terribly.
