Teeva
My dog's name is "Teeva" and she is a pure bred pit bull terrier. We got
her when she was just a puppy. With all of the "Discrimination" in this
world associated with this breed which is so unfair, she won the hearts of
everyone in our neighborhood. Her and I played ball in the backyard.
Teeva lived with my oldest brother. And boy did he love her and she him!!
It was just the two of them in the house that my parents once owned. He
took her to his shop with him everyday and she loved to romp and play in
the ivy outside. She never left his side, even without a leash! She was
very smart she would shake hands and when asked to shake with the opposite,
she would. Everyday they took their afternoon walks all the kids that were
getting out of school loved her and knew her. They would pet her and love
her.
She communicated with her eyes and at the end when she got very sick
from lymphoma (she was only 5 years old) she looked up at me as if to say
please help me, my throat is all swollen and I can't breath or swallow.
She only went through these symptoms for a short period of time, however.
We would not allow her to suffer. Just the night before she had eaten a
full dish of food. Many people might have just told the vet to put their
pet to sleep upon hearing the news that she had this terminal illness and
brag about it for not letting the dog suffer, however we have so many
precious memories and good quality time long after, even the time period
they said she had.
My heart is broken! This is the hardest thing I've had
to do since losing my mom and dad. I don't know why a dog only 5 years old
had to get lymphoma.
But one thing's for sure, she will now find my mom
and they will, once again (she lived with mom before my brother) have the
happy home in heaven that we all knew here on earth.
