Lucy, Rommel, Manfred, Baron & Zebby
My bosses have always had Dobermans, since before I was employed 8 years ago. We just lost another one two weeks ago, which was the last of the family. They were such wonderful creatures and I grieve for them as much as losing my mom in February. I would like them to be remembered.
Mom - Lucy
Dad - Rommel
Son - Manfred
We now have two new ones to spoil and love. The male, Baron is 13 months
old, and has a mind of his own. The female, Gretta, is 1 1/2 years old,
and the most jealous dog I've ever known. However, they are very loving
and loyal, and make my day everyday.
Added March 11, 2002:
Zebby, which was the daughter of
Rommel and Lucy, and sister of Manfred, we lost this past November.
The other one, Baron, just 2 1/2 years old, we had to put down yesterday
morning, as he was suffering from chronic kidney failure. It was indeed one
of the longest days of my life, even though I have been through this
procedure before. Baron was only diagnosed about 8 months ago, and was
always full of life and energy, so we never had a clue of his illness.
Right up to the end he was alert, held his ears up high----but his
deteriorating body just gave out on him, and we knew there was no hope. He
did, in fact, go very peacefully, and without pain---just no energy left.
They have also ordered a new black male dobe puppy, which is now only 5
weeks old, and Gretta is so young yet, and healthy and needs a playmate.
She wanders the 8 acre yard looking for Baron, and seems somewhat sad not
knowing the loss of her brother.
