Hobie
1983 - 1998

Hobie, was our black lab, devoted, constant, loyal...as a puppy protected me from a group of menacing dogs while we were out running...she was a great swimmer, and loved nothing better than diving out of a dock or running out into the ocean after a stick or ball (any old excuse for a bracing swim!) She grew old quickly after the birth of her 10 puppies...but hung in there, being a sister to her dog pal, Mandy and loving us all unconditionally...My daughter Alanna loved to use old Hobie as a giant pillow...Hobie was blind the last 5 years of her life and was a remarkable navigator of her garage and backyard...The birds learned that Hobie wasn't a threat and would stay put when Hobie would meander into the backyard...She was a good dog, much loved and missed...Take care of Mandy, now, Hobie...We love you!
