Yogi
Our beloved Newfoundland
Yogi came to us at 7 weeks old - a 15 lb. bundle of Newfoundland joy. We
loved him at first sight. Yogi was a gentle spirit with the wisdom and
understanding of a very old soul. He loved people, water, and walking in
the park. His trips to the park included collecting sticks worthy of
bringing home. As much as he loved to walk, once he found the "right"
stick, he would immediately turn around and head for home, prancing at a
fast pace with the prized stick in his mouth and tail held high. We kept
all of Yogi's sticks - they were his treasures.
Yogi also loved his babies
(stuffed animals). He never destroyed any one of his toys. We knew he was
truly content when he would get on the bed and "love" his baby (bite down
gently on his baby as if gumming it).
Yogi suffered various health problems including a heart murmur, hip
dysplasia (and TPO surgeries), allergies, and a torn ligament in his knee
(surgery again). He finally succumbed to bone cancer. He was the love of
our life and will be sorely missed.
Until we can be together again dearest Yogi.....
