Frodo
11/19/85 - 6/5/99
Frodo was the best companion ever. He was a fuzzy Norwegian Elkhound who was
able to read your mood and understand. I first saw him at the pet store
where he had outgrown the cage and was due to be "shipped out" to the pound.
He was so bouncy and full of joy. I was recovering from a very serious
accident and he helped me to focus on something other than my discomfort. He
knew not to jump or lean on my broken leg.
Later we would take walks in the neighborhood where he played with the
children. I even took him on vacation to the Bahamas where we played in the
water. Frodo chased crabs - even caught a few.
As he slowed down with time he still was happy and seemed to possess the
ability for empathy. Last year he was found to have spinal arthritis and
the beginnings of heart failure. His vet treated him with adequan and I am
forever grateful for the releif it gave him.
I lost my boy to a tumor which was too much for him. His last days were
spent with me being shamelessly spoiled (even more than usual). He fell
asleep in my arms and now my heart is the broken one.
