Dunkel
Dunkel (left) and Ryker, who really misses Dunkel
We lost our 4 and 1/2 year old German Shepherd named Dunkel to cancer on
February 3rd 1998. It came very quickly and after a short battle with
cancer treatments she told us she was ready to go. We put her down in
our home while I held her in my arms. She was our best friend and we
could not have loved her more. She leaves Me, my wife Sue and our
remaining 3 and 1/2 year old German Shepherd male named Ryker completely
heart broken. If it was not for your web page (Dog Star) and the story
of the rainbow bridge at (Petloss.com) we would have remained alone with
our grief. I believe the rainbow bridge must be located on Dog Star.
We can't wait for the day that we all might be together again...
The only hard part in visiting Dog Star is that most of dogs lived a
full life expectancy. Dunkel was in her prime and on the top of her
game when the cancer hit. In two weeks she could not even walk up the 3
steps from the pen! She was the sweetest loving thing I think the 3 of
us will ever know. We will miss her forever... We thank all of you for
letting us know that we are not alone in our love of these precious
animals. So few people understand our grief.
