Dottie was such a part of our family for the short
time we were blessed
with her. She was a white boxer with so much
personality. She always sat
on the couch and looked out the window waiting
for us to come home. When
she got excited she would just quiver all over. She chased our miniature
horses all around the pasture.
At times I think she thought she was one of
them. She even ate grass with them. They stand at the fence and look at
her grave as if speaking to her.
Dottie always followed and played with
our two children. They too stand at her grave and "Say something nice
about Dottie." We always had white dog hair all over the house, and I
actually miss it. We have more room in our bed at night, but I don't sleep
as well as I did when Dottie was on my feet. She had a bone tumor that
spread to her chest and eventually ruptured to cause internal bleeding.
The decision we had to make was the most difficult one we've ever had to
make. Her continued suffering was not an option for us. I feel like
Dottie understood why we did what we did and she was glad that I held her
to the very end. I never thought my tears would end. We know that she is
shining bright above just for us.
Dottie, We love you very much and we miss you more and more every day. We
are anxiously awaiting our reunion at the Rainbow Bridge.
